I took this photo last summer while visiting St. Peter’s Basilica.
This is one of my favorite photos from my visit that day.

This is one neat photograph! When I first saw it, the white habit of the nuns immediately caught my attention. The photographer and the nuns almost look as if they have been superimposed on the photo. It’s almost surreal.

Oh that’s beautiful. :)
Hey – no, you can only ski at Ski Dubai if you actually know how to ski – Alessandro could have gone and had a lesson – but that was all. But we enjoyed watching the people who were skiing.
He went to the waterslide place instead.

Thanks everyone. I almost missed this shot. It was getting late. Just as I was about to leave, I noticed the two nuns asking the guy to take their picture. I thought it was pretty interesting seeing “tourist nuns” wanting their picture taken and so I grabbed my camera to take a picture of the guy taking a picture of the nuns. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Very cool! The lighting is interesting and you’ve captured a different side of nuns, as tourists and souvenir seekers!

Thanks Carver & Sandra. I took the photo at the end of the day. It probably would not have come out as good if the nuns weren’t wearing white.
I found it quite interesting seeing nuns as tourists (outside the Basilica and at the tourist shop on the roof).

My knowledge of nuns comes from Bing Crosby movies, etc. In them they seemed to be portrayed as quite human – joking around, hamming it up, etc. when they weren’t busy saving souls, that is. Looks like these nuns fit right in! Very good shot. Thanks for stopping by Spatter…

Great photo! I can only imagine what an experience it was for the two nuns to visit the Vatican.

Well, you answered my question; I was wondering if the nuns knew the gentleman, or if he had asked to take a picture of them for himself, but now I know. Lovely shot.

June, although I also have fond memories of nuns in movies (and of course Sally Fields in the Flying Nun, I guess my Catholic upbringing had more influence :) Thanks for checking out my photo.
Chiocciola, I would imagine it would be very thrilling and quite overwhelming.
Carin, thanks for stopping by again. I love your fig and olive photos :)
Kim, I guess there could be many interpretations of how this occurred. I guess I should have included that in my description.
