I took these photos a couple of weeks ago while visiting some of the historic sights in Honolulu with Marta & her hubby while they were visiting Oahu. I realize the Santa & the snowmen photos are similar to the photos I posted last year. What can I say? We are in a budget crunch and a few of the decorations were not changed. I also realize that snowmen have nothing to do with Hanukkah. With no Hanukkah decorations to choose from, I had to improvise.

After taking photos of the Christmas decorations in front of Honolulu Hale (Honolulu City Hall), we went across the street to check out the famous Kawaiaha’o Church. It is the first time I have seen the inside of the church in person and to see it all decked out for Christmas was extra special.

  1. Merry Christmas! Lovely photos, and you made me laugh with the snowmen and Hanukkah photo comment. :) Out of towners have a way of getting locals to see sights in their own backyards, don’t they?

  2. Merry Christmas to you Colleen! Glad I was able to make you laugh :) We were heading for lunch. I wanted to show Marta and G. the Christmas display on the way. Marta’s good karma found us a parking spot. Otherwise, we were going to just drive by.

  3. Merry Christmas! Love your photos… I like the first one… Santa and open shirt… next year, board shorts maybe. The tree in front of the hale must be huge. I thought at first it was decked out in hawaiian quilt pieces… the church looks very peaceful and festive at the same time. Thank you for sharing.

  5. Thank you Leslie. Merry Christmas to you too!
Eden, Santa and Mrs. Claus are always dressed the same every year although the decorations around them usually change. The tree is very big and it is a real tree! The church was simple but also so beautiful inside. Merry Christmas!
Palma, yes we will see each other soon! Buon Natale :)
Marta, I was so happy to spend time with you and G. I just wish I could have shown you the lights at night also. Mele Kalikimaka!

  7. sandra, thanks! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas also.
Kathy, you too! I made the frames in iPhoto. You can make cards by choosing a theme, color, and then drop photos inside. I don’t print them though as it would use so much ink! I took screen shots of each card I made. Pretty easy to do, but you need a Mac. Glad the photos brought back nice memories. I hope you had fun in Las Vegas with your sister.
