This first photo was taken on May 3rd. The aspens have little buds on them in this photo, which makes it pretty easy to still see most of the mountain through the trees. Not much snow has melted yet on the mountain.
This next photo was taken at the exact same spot almost a month later (June 2nd) on a cloudy day. The trees are now bushy so you can no longer see many of the slopes on the mountain from this spot. There’s still a lot of snow left up on the mountain, although much of the snow on the bottom slopes has started to melt.
I took this photo today from a different bridge. It was the perfect day! Nice and sunny and warm. A lot of the snow on the bottom slopes on the mountain have melted but the top slopes are still pretty snowy. The mountain opens for hiking and mountain biking access on June 9th. Not sure what the plan is with all the snow left. Maybe some skiing??
These last two photos were taken today down by the library where a river festival was taking place.
I finally put my mittens, scarves, and winter hats away. They still are within easy reach but I am hoping summer is here to stay!
