early fall hike to the ears

Last Friday, I went on a hike to the ears (Rabbit Ears). I have only done this hike during the summer – wildflower season. I was amazed at just how beautiful it was with the sea of colors everywhere.  The scenery reminded me of Monet paintings.

It was threatening rain when we started. The ears were covered in a cloud. Just before reaching the top, the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful blue sky day. It started to cloud up again as we headed back down and it started to rain and even hail a bit the last 15 minutes or so of our hike just before reaching the car. It was a fun hike an just so incredibly beautiful!

I didn’t bring my dslr camera with me because of the threatening rain. I really wish I had. Instead I used my iPhone and my Canon Elph camera to take photos. I took tons as usual. I tried to choose a variety to give you an idea of the hike.
